Texts, dictionary and voices
The novels in Basset are in the public domain. Most were prepared from editions published by Project Gutenberg; the Spanish edition of Around the World in Eighty Days follows Vicente Guimerá's translation of 1885. The easier levels of each book are adaptations written for Basset.
The dictionary data comes from WikDict, which is built from Wiktionary, and is used under CC BY-SA.
Pronunciation is synthesised with Piper voices. The French voice is trained on The SIWIS French Speech Synthesis Database by Junichi Yamagishi, Pierre-Edouard Honnet, Philip Garner and Alexandros Lazaridis (University of Edinburgh, 2017, doi:10.7488/ds/1705), used under CC BY 4.0. The English voice is trained on the public-domain LJ Speech dataset, and the German and Spanish voices are released under CC0.
